What Is Land of Legends, Exactly?

The Land of Legends Theme Park (Turkish: Efsaneler Diyarı) opened in July 2016 in Belek, one of Turkey's most developed resort corridors, roughly 25 kilometers east of Antalya Airport. Developed as a joint venture between the Rixos Group, Emaar Properties, and creative production company Dragone, it was conceived from the outset as something beyond a standard water park. The result is a over 620,000-square-meter complex that combines a conventional amusement park, two water parks, a shopping mall, and a pair of 5-star hotels into a single self-contained destination.

The scale alone sets it apart from anything else in the region. The park features a prominent observation tower. The Aqua Land zone covers 180,000 square meters and contains 41 water slides, some rising to 22 meters, alongside 70 distinct attraction points. This is not a place you pass through in two hours. Most families who come for the day leave wishing they had arrived earlier.

💡 Local tip

Arrive when the park opens. The water slides fill up quickly on summer mornings, and by midday queues at the most popular attractions can stretch to 30–45 minutes. Early arrival is the single most effective way to maximize your time.

The Four Zones: What to Expect in Each

Adventure Land

This is the core amusement area, oriented toward older children, teenagers, and adults. Expect conventional theme park rides alongside shows and entertainment stages. The 111-meter tower is one of the park's defining landmarks and visible from much of the complex. It provides orientation as well as one of the more striking views across the Belek coastline and inland pine forests.

Aqua Land and Tropic Lagoon

The water park section is where most families spend the majority of their time, especially during summer. The combination of Aqua Land and Tropic Lagoon offers 41 water slides of varying intensity, lazy rivers, wave pools, and dedicated shallow zones for younger children. The high slides, reaching up to 22 meters, attract the queues, but there is enough variety that children of different ages and confidence levels can each find their level. Tropic Lagoon, with its lagoon-style layout, tends to feel slightly calmer than the main Aqua Land zone.

Bring water shoes. The walking surfaces between attractions heat up significantly under the Turkish summer sun, and the walk between zones is longer than it looks on the map.

Masha and the Bear Land of Laughter

Opened in July 2020, this zone is built around the internationally popular animated franchise and is pitched squarely at younger children, roughly ages 2 to 8. The scale of the rides and attractions matches the audience: gentler, more colorful, and less overwhelming than the main adventure zone. Parents with toddlers often cite this as the most practical part of the park, since smaller children can actually participate rather than watch from the sidelines.

Nickelodeon Land

The newest major addition, opened on 15 January 2025, Nickelodeon Land brings SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol, and other franchise characters into a dedicated zone. Its introduction gives Land of Legends a significant IP draw for families who have children in the 5–12 age range. Given that it opened recently, expect this zone to still be building its full offering.

How the Park Changes Through the Day

The first hour after opening is the most efficient time in the park. Queues are shortest, the air temperature is manageable, and the youngest children are freshest. By late morning, the park reaches near-peak density. The shopping mall and covered indoor areas become a useful refuge during the hottest part of the afternoon, roughly 1pm to 4pm in July and August.

Late afternoon and early evening shift the atmosphere. Families with younger children start to filter out after 5pm. Show schedules and evening entertainment tend to pick up around this time, giving the park a different character compared to the heat-drenched midday hours. If you are staying at one of the on-site hotels, the evening is worth exploring in its own right.

⚠️ What to skip

Summer heat in Belek is intense between July and August, with temperatures routinely above 35°C. The water parks provide relief, but the walks between zones are exposed. Sunscreen, hats, and a reusable water bottle are practical necessities, not optional extras.

On-Site Hotels and the Option to Stay Overnight

Land of Legends operates two 5-star hotels within the complex: the Kingdom Hotel and Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Antalya. Staying on-site changes the nature of the visit entirely. Access to the park is typically included for hotel guests, and the ability to return to a room for a midday break before heading back out in the afternoon makes the experience significantly less exhausting, particularly for families with young children.

For travelers already planning an all-inclusive stay in Belek, it is worth comparing the cost of an on-site hotel night against a day visit, especially during peak summer weeks when day-ticket queues are at their worst. The Belek resort area has long been built around high-end resort tourism, and Land of Legends fits naturally into that ecosystem.

Getting There: Practical Transport Notes

Land of Legends sits at Kadriye Mahallesi, Atatürk Caddesi No. 104/1, in the Serik district, approximately 27 kilometers from Antalya Airport. By car or taxi, the drive takes around 30 minutes under normal traffic conditions. Many Belek resort hotels operate their own shuttles to the park, so check with your accommodation before booking a separate transfer.

There is no direct, reliable public bus connection from central Antalya to the park's entrance, so visitors relying on public transport will need to plan carefully. If you are based in the city center rather than Belek and wondering how to structure the day, the guide to getting around Antalya covers the broader transport options in detail.

ℹ️ Good to know

The park's GPS coordinates are 36.87694°N, 31.00278°E. Using these directly in a navigation app avoids any ambiguity about which entrance to target on larger map apps.

Honest Assessment: Who Will Love It and Who Won't

For families with children between roughly 3 and 14, Land of Legends delivers what it promises: a full day of structured entertainment with enough variety that different ages stay engaged. The scale is impressive, the zones are coherent, and the quality of the rides and facilities is considerably above what you find at smaller regional parks.

Travelers without children, or those primarily interested in Antalya's historical depth, will likely find the park unnecessary. The ancient city of Perge is actually located not far from Belek and offers a completely different kind of day out. Similarly, those drawn to Antalya for its natural landscape might prefer the waterfall circuit around Antalya or a boat tour along the coast over a theme park day.

The park is also expensive relative to most other activities in the region. For budget-conscious travelers, a day here represents a significant portion of a trip's activity budget. That said, the scale of what is included makes it a fair value proposition if theme parks are genuinely something your group enjoys.

Photography and Accessibility Notes

Photography is generally permitted throughout the park, though individual ride operators may restrict phones or cameras for safety reasons at specific attractions. The 111-meter tower offers a useful elevated perspective for orientation shots across the complex. Morning light falls well on the entrance area and Adventure Land zone.

For accessibility, the site is large and the terrain between zones involves substantial walking across open areas. Visitors with limited mobility should check directly with the park before arrival, as the official website carries the most current information on wheelchair access, stroller policies, and ride height restrictions. Given the recent opening of Nickelodeon Land in early 2025, some infrastructure may still be evolving.

Insider Tips

  • Book tickets online through the official website in advance during July and August. Walk-up queues at the ticket desks on peak summer weekends are long and slow, and online pricing occasionally includes early-booking discounts.
  • The shopping mall within the complex is air-conditioned and offers a practical midday break without leaving the site. It is a useful option between 1pm and 3pm when the heat on the outdoor attractions is at its most punishing.
  • Locker rental near the water park entrance fills up fast. Arrive early and secure a locker before heading to the first attraction. Coming back later to find lockers unavailable or distant is a common frustration.
  • Nickelodeon Land opened on 15 January 2025, meaning it is still relatively new. Character meet-and-greet schedules and show timings may not yet be as polished or reliable as the older zones. Check the daily schedule board at the zone entrance first thing.
  • Many Belek resort hotels include Land of Legends access in their packages or offer discounted tickets at reception. Ask your hotel directly before purchasing at the gate — you may be paying more than necessary.
